22nd June 2002
After the fun and success of the charity opening of Snow Dogs on 16th June
the Husky packs gathered once again at George Street Cinemas to continue the work of spreading
the word about Siberians to all the morning moviegoers. Similar events were taking place all around
Sydney, and many thanks to Dave from Buena Vista International for his exceptional enthusiasm and support in
organising and running this particular event.

An estimated 500-600 viewers turned up for the 11:00am session and were delighted to be entertained by nearly 20
Huskies for almost an hour while they waited for the theatre doors to open. Perhaps it was the later session time
or perhaps just a different mix of movie fans this time but this week there was much more interest in talking
with the owners about the breed than there was in petting the dogs themselves.

|
Several hundred information sheets were handed out, one to almost every family group that turned up and
it was encouraging to later overhear at least one family reconsider their impulse to acquire a
new Snow Dog puppy. Even more encouraging was that the information sheets were very well received
all round and none were seen discarded in wastepaper bins afterwards.

We were also fortunate to have two reporters present, one from 101.7 WS-FM and one from Tesltra.com Broadband and
we hope to see some photo and video coverage of the event posted in the coming weeks. Sam himself is
expected to feature in at least one video report!

At the end of the event Buena Vista was kind enough to donate a large number of posters, T-shirts, caps,
banners and block mounted posters to the Husky Club of NSW, to help them with their fundraising efforts.
Every dog and owner who atttended was also made a present of a Husky-sized dog harness too,
by way of a thank-you gift. It was much appreciated!

As for the dogs? Well they just can't wait to do it all again. Of course with the movie officially opening
this week no-one had the heart to tell them this was the last event.
